Staveley village location means that it is easy to get to ALL the attractions, villages & lakes that comprise the Lakes National Park, & slightly further a field towards the Eden Valley and the western part of Yorkshire. You don’t even have to travel, if you want walks and bike routes, you can do it from the front door. The Kentmere valley and surrounding area is full of easy to difficult walks, numerous bike tracks and for anglers, two rivers (Kent & Gowan) within 500 yds. The village is home to 2 good pubs, serving food and many more excellent pubs/restaurants within 10 minutes drive away.
On the main street there is a:

- Spar convenience store (open until 9pm. every day)
- Fish & chip shop
- Antique shop
- Artist/Photographic Gallery

go to www.staveleymillyard.com and see all.
Staveley House and adjoining apartment is a detached property situated on the western side of the village on Windermere road. A gentle 5 minute stroll will take you into the centre of the village.
Parking for up to 3 or 4 small medium cars is available in the driveway, and there are no restrictions to park on the road outside the house.
The outhouse with generous interior space to accommodate bikes in a secure area also contains a washing machine, condenser drier and clothes line.
The rear garden faces south, so is a real suntrap. Patio area with table & chairs are provided and there is a small grassed lawn surrounded by mature shrubs & trees.
The front of the property faces onto open fields and views to the surrounding fells.
Although quite near the road the volume of passing traffic is very low and the noise from the traffic is minimal.
There is no landline in the house and the mobile signals are not good- except for ORANGE. There is an Orange mast in the village and so we suggest you buy an Orange 'pay as-u-go' sim card.
There is no wi-fi at the moment, but we are looking into providing this.
When entering the house immediately on the left for your comfort is a downstairs toilet, and separate washbasin.
For the wet days we also have a drying room with towel radiator, drying stand and plenty of coat hooks for your wet clothes and boots.
If you have brought your dog with you there is also a specially built “DOGGY SHOWER” to wash your pet. Don’t forget to bring plenty of towels.
ACCESSABILITY for the elderly, infirm or young
STAVELEY HOUSE
Because of the spiral staircase from the ground floor to the first floor, there may be a problem, but it is not impossible for persons with walking difficulties to climb. Wheelchair access to anywhere other than the ground floor would be impossible.
STAVELEY APARTMENT
Inside the apartment all the rooms are on the level, there are no steps.
To get to the front door of the apartment, which is at the rear of the property there are a few steps to negotiate.
Normal width wheelchair accessibility is easily possible.
STAVELEY HOUSE WITH CONNECTING DOOR TO APARTMENT - BOOKED AS ONE UNIT
This is an ideal solution for Grandparents, teenagers or indeed parents, who holiday together, but would like to have their own space and privacy. Also, any infirm/wheelchair bound person can use the ground floor of the house and access one of the first floor bedrooms via the front door of the apartment and then through the connecting door.
During the summer of this year we have re-decorated and totally re-furbished the house. New en-suites have been added to the two first floor bedrooms.
All bed linen is made from the highest quality Egyptian cotton.
The interior of the House is totally non-smoking.
Dogs are NOT ALLOWED in the bedrooms.
Dogs are not allowed on the settees, but we know this might prove difficult if they are allowed at home. If this is the case, please bring blankets with you to put over the settees.
